Sat 2 Mon (Saturday Night to Monday Morning)

Rate 6.9/10
Cast

Chuod (Worrawech) falls in love at the first sight with Tonlieu (Coates) as she walks past him. He wants to get closer to her, but he doesn't know how. Then, he asks for help to Tonlieu's bestfriend, Pen (Ungsumalynn). However, he fails miserably even with Pen's help. When suddenly his grandmother falls ill, he asks for Pen's help for the last time to become his girlfriend from Saturday night until Monday morning (his grandmother wants to see his girlfriend). Pen agrees because she wants to get rid of him asking her for help every single day. Their fake relationship starts here.

This movie is disappointing for me. I have high expectation because Thai romance comedies are usually the best, they're hilarious from the start until the very end. But this one's not even funny. Their chemistry seems off and forced, you can see that they're acting. The plot is weak and weird, the situations that makes them together looks way too unnatural. The characters are also weak, and the side characters seem like they were thrown there just to add some other characters with no purpose at all. They're, sadly, meaningless to the movie. The ending makes sense, and that's the only good thing about the movie. If you're looking for a good laugh, I don't recommend this one.

Cast
  • Park Sun Ho as Ma Dae Choong
  • Kim Yoo Jung as Nebi
  • Nam Ji Hyun as Seo Rin
  • Baek Sung Hyun as Chun Ji Woon
  • Kim Woo Bin as God of Dating
Episodes: 15

Ma Dae Choong (Park Sun Ho) is an unemployed boy who spends his days doing particularly nothing. He has no friends let alone a girlfriend. Suddenly a girl magically appears before him and she claims to be his dying love cell called Nebi (Kim Yoo Jung). She promises to save his non existent dating life. Her target, a super star, Seo Rin (Nam Ji Hyun).

The drama's plot is simple and it has a very light story, but it's entertaining. Kim Yoo Jung always gives a great performance, even when it's just a webdrama. She really shines compared to the other actors. There are lots of hilarious scenes, but the story's just moving too fast and it makes some scenes seem rushed. Each episode is about only 10 minutes, so it doesn't leave much impression to me. If they made it a bit longer and gave more depth into the story, it could be better. I wish there're more episodes.

Begin Again

Rate 8/10
Cast
  • Keira Knightley as Gretta James
  • Mark Ruffalo as Dan Mulligan
  • Hailee Steinfeld as Violet Mulligan
  • Adam Levine as Dave Kohl

Dan Mulligan (Mark Ruffalo) is a record label producer who didn't produce anything for the last 7 years. He lives separately from his wife and daughter, Violet (Hailee Steinfeld). His failing career and his broken relationship with his family drives him into a wreck.
Gretta James (Keira Knightley), a talented singer and songwriter lives in New York with her boyfriend, Dave Kohl (Adam Levine). Dave, now having a successful career as a singer, tempted by his colleague and ends up cheating. Broken-hearted, Gretta leaves him and intends to leave New York the very next day. But that night, things start to change when she meets Dan. He's entranced by her talent as she's performing on stage. From then on, they start their journey of music.

I didn't expect much about this movie, I only knew Mark Ruffalo from The Avengers and he doesn't really stand out. But here, he's outstanding. His chemistry with Keira Knightley is perfect. Every scene seems so natural and beautifully entangled in this movie. The soundtrack is wonderful and Lost Stars sounds like old Maroon 5 songs which is amazing. Honestly, nowadays, Maroon 5 sounds more like those shitty EDM than a band. I always thought romance movie without comedy would be very dull, but Begin Again shows me that it's not. It was so great that I got a little disappointed when it comes to an end, I want more! Definitely recommended.

  • Byun Yo Han as Bang Myeong Soo
  • Lee Yoon Ji as Jang Hwa Young
  • Jang Ji Eun as Na Ji Ah
  • Hwa Young as Ra Ra
  • Do Sang Woo as Joo  Gun

Episodes: 12

Kim Soo Jin (Song Ji Hyo) is a producer in a failing film production company. Trying to save the company from bankruptcy, she decides to produce a movie based on a popular webtoon. The webtoon tells the story of the writer's past relationships with his ex-girlfriends. Soo Jin is surprised to find out that the webtoon artist is her very own ex-boyfriend, Bang Myeong Soo (Byun Yo Han). When the movie production starts, Soo Jin ultimately has to face Myeong Soo and his three ex-girlfriends.
  • Na Ji Ah (Jang Ji Eun), a calm and composed widow who runs a restaurant and seems like she still has some feelings left for Myeong Soo.

  • Jang Hwa Young (Lee Yoon Ji), a fierce and successful business woman who doesn't want her fiancee to ever find out about her ex or her extreme behavior if the movie comes out.

  • Ra Ra (Hwa Young), a young and sexy third-rate actress who wants to get a role in the movie no matter what it takes.

When these three meet, all hell breaks loose.

I love this kinds of drama the most, romance with lots of comedies through the episodes. I have a high expectation, but it's not that good. Granted there were funny moments, but some parts are draggy look forced somehow. Song Ji Hyo looks too old for the male lead (she's better in Emergency Couple) and I feel no chemistry between the main characters. The three ex-girlfriends steal the spotlight from the lead characters. It's good that they ended it at 12 episodes, otherwise it would be too boring. There are too many cliche scenes, the piggy back ride, two guys chasing the same girl, the way it takes a really loooong time just to say "I love you". Those scenes make me cringe the most. It's still enjoyable, but it didn't live up to my expectation.

We Broke Up

Rate 7.4/10
Cast
  • Kang Seung Yoon as Ji Won Yeong
  • Sandara Park as No Woo Ri
  • Kang Seung Hyun as Yoon Ni Na
  • Jang Ki Yong as Seo Hyeon Woo

Episodes: 10

No Woo Ri (Sandara Park), fell in love at the first sight with Ji Won Yeong (Kang Seung Yoon) who was performing with his band in a cafe. They started to date but things didn't go as planned, they broke up. Now, hating each other, they don't want to live in the same house anymore. But both of them are broke, they're forced to live under the same roof. Things get complicated when a senior, Seo Hyeon Woo (Jang Ki Yong) makes a move to Woo Ri, knowing she's already broke up. And Yoon Ni Na (Kang Seung Hyun) shows interests in Won Yeong. Will they be able to move on with their feelings still attached somehow?

This drama is light and very short, you can watch the entire episodes in one sitting (each episode is about 15 minutes long). Hilarious yet heartbreaking in some parts. Kang Seung Yoon shows a pretty good acting despite him being a singer, the same goes to Sandara Park. I immediately fall in love with the soundtrack, they're singers after all, they sound so good and the song fits the drama nicely. The down side is some of the jokes are connected to the actors in real life (e.g. the appearance of Sandara's brother), you won't understand unless you know the actors beforehand. But for a fan of Sandara and Kang Seung Yoon, it must be really entertaining.

  • Hiroyuki Hirayama as Kyoichi Shindo
  • Misako Renbutsu as Soyoko Shiota
  • Serai Takagi as Emitaro Yamada
  • Kanon Tani as Hinata Sakurakawa

Episodes: 11

Wakaba Aikawa (Yui Aragaki) wants to become an international lawyer. Chasing her dreams, she gets a job at Samezima Sakuragawa law firm, a reputable law firm in Japan. She's surprised when her boss orders her to babysit her daughter, Hinata (Kanon Tani). Because she doesn't want to lose her new job, she decides to take care of Hinata. One day, she accidentally meets Sota Yamada (Ryo Nishikido) whom she mistaken as a pervert. Sota turns out to be reliable when it comes to taking care of children, she ends up getting help from him to look after Hinata.

I really love this drama's plot. Just like any other dramas, this drama's main plot is romance, but it's good to see it doesn't only focus on that topic. I love how they show the reality of a hard job-seeking in the real world, how everyone has to work hard to chase his/her dreams, how cruel a boss can do to you. Every character seems real and it's nice to see their determination to be a better person. The chemistry is great and Ryo Nishikado becomes one of my favorite actors after this drama. But the ones who steal the spotlight are the child actors. I don't know where they find them, but these 5-year olds are impressive, they can act well at such a young age. And the interactions between the characters are simple yet heart-warming. A good drama indeed.

Funny, innocent, and cute at the same time. The plot is actually old, a boy disguises himself as a girl. But, it's very entertaining right from the start until the end. Hilarious and I can't help to fall in love with the characters. It's funny that I really didn't realize that Sun Woong is a boy (I didn't read any review before watching this drama), she's very very pretty. And I really love that this drama is so short (only 3 episodes!) but it can slay any other dramas I watched. Anyway, if you want to watch a light, funny, heart-warming drama, you need to watch this.

  • Ikuta Toma as Shuichi Nakatsu
  • Hiro Mizushima as Minami Nanba
  • Yusuke Yamamoto as Taiki Kayashima
  • Masaki Okada as Kyogo Sekime

Episodes : 12

Mizuki Ashiya (Horikita Maki) transfers school from California to Osaka High School. But it's not an ordinary school, it's an all male high school. Cutting her hair short, she disguises herself as a boy. She does that to get closer to Izumi Sano (Shun Oguri), a high jump athlete who stops to do high jumps after his legs injured. Problems ensues, when Sano finds out that she's a girl but she didn't know it. Things got more confusing as Shuichi nakatsu (Ikuta Toma) falls in love with her without knowing that she's actually a girl.

I freaking love this drama! the main characters are amazing and the side characters couldn't be better. Everyone has a unique traits that makes it easier to recognize even the minor characters. Every single episode is hilarious with a tiny little bit of romance. I love how the boys seem so cool in front of girls but they turn out to be weird, funny, and not that cool after all. Nakatsu's crazy antics can make you fall in love with him right away. I really like the school's crazy competitions and festivals (they seem to never study at all).  And when the drama ends, I couldn't help but to want more. I hope there'll be season 2, but sadly it didn't happen. The only thing I hate from this drama is Sano's hairstyle. God, I want to cut it right away. If you want a comedy drama, this is it, full hilarity right from the start.

  • Masaki Okada as Roku Akazawa
  • Kengo Kora as Kazue Haruta
  • Haru as Tomomi Kawaguchi
  • Aoi Nakamura as Toshikuni Mayama
  • Yuki Furukawa as Kiyomasa Komine

Kanna Seto (Masami Nagasawa), a cheerful girl who works in a movie advertising company hides something from her past. When she was in high school, her crush and best friend died in a car accident. She seems all right and unbothered by it, but she actually still feels guilty about that incident.
Roku Akazawa (Masaki Okada), a friendly editor in a publishing company has an almost similar story with Kanna. When he was in primary school, he accidentally pushed his friend and she was hit by a car. He still carries his guilt all the way to his adulthood. When these two meet can they heal each other's wounds?

My two favorite actors as the main lead! They bring out the characters really well. I can feel their love, heartache, guilt, pain, sadness and all their emotions throughout the movie. This movie is very touching and it's done beautifully. The relationship between each character feels so deep and I can't help but falling in love with the main characters. It's the kind of movie that can make you feel sad and hurt without showing too much tears. It's perfect (for me).

The other members are Kwon Ji Hyuk (Sung Joon), Lee Hyun Soo (Kim Myung Soo), Jang Do Il (Lee Hyun Jae), Kim Ha Jin (Yoo Min Kyu), and Seo Kyung Jong (Kim Min Suk). When their school is forced to close down, they transfer to the reputable Jungsang High School. There, they find their opponent, Strawberry Fields band.

This drama is really great! The actors carry out the plot nicely. The characters are really good and they have good chemistry. And the soundtracks are great, I downloaded their songs because of this drama. Sung Joon's voice is nice for a model-turned-actor. How I wish they're a real band so I could hear more of their songs. This is not your typical asian drama as it doesn't only focus on romance. I recommend this one.

Everyone around her doesn't realize what's happening, then it dawns on her that she's the only one who can see him. She then discovers that she's the descendant of Shadowhunters, warriors who protects people from demons. When her mother suddenly disappears, she joins with the other Shadowhunters to save her mother.

This is one of of my favorite movies. I admit I never read the book of this story, and I'm glad I didn't. Most of the time book-turns-movie are disappointing. I don't know about this one, but from a non-reader point of view this movie is awesome. I love how the story flows and the characters are great. It's exciting and very entertaining, you should try to watch this one.

Koo Bok Ja (Kim Mi Kyung), a mother of three, who believes in superstitions often asks a seer about her family's luck. The seer tells her that for the next year, the number "9" will bring a bad luck to her family. Coincidentally, her younger brother, Koo Gwang Soo (Oh Jung Se) will be 39 years old next year. Her oldest son, Kang Jin Goo (Kim Young Kwang), will turn 29. Her second and youngest sons, Kang Min Goo (Yook Sung Jae) and Kang Dong Goo (Choi Ro Woon), will be 19 and 9 years old. From then on, a chain of bad lucks approach the four boys in their work and love life.

I watched this drama a few months ago and I still remember some of the scenes. I love the plot as it is something new for an Asian drama. It's not about a super rich boy who falls in love with a weak poor girl which is very common plot for Asian dramas. The characters are realistic, they have their good and bad sides, just normal people. The story is light and has its funny moments sometimes. Even when it's mainly focused on romance, it has strong backgrounds in other aspects as well, such as family, friends, and work. It's simple yet entertaining.

ATM Error

Just as the title says, this is a movie about an ATM having an error. Sua (Chantavit) and Jib (Preechaya) are employees in a bank. The company where they're working at doesn't allow its employees to have romantic relationship. But Sua and Jib have already secretly dating for 5 years. Wanting to get married, one of them have to resign from the job. But neither of the two are willing to resign. To solve this problem, they make bet. Whoever can solve the ATM error trouble in the company first will be the winner and he/she doesn't need to resign. They never knew that the ATM error is not as simple as they thought.

One of my favorite Thailand actors, Chantavit Dhanasevi, is back! And he's as funny as always. This movie is one of the best romantic comedies. I love every moment of it. The actors are great, the plot is simple but amazing, everything mixes in flawlessly. I don't want to say too much, it will spoil the movie for you. Thailand sure knows how to make great romantic comedies.

  • Jun Matsumoto as Domyoji Tsukasa
  • Shun Oguri as Hanazawa Rui
  • Shota Matsuda as Nishikado Sojiro
  • Tsuyoshi Abe as Mimasaka Akira

Episodes : 9

Makino Tsukushi (Mao) is a young hard-working girl who attend an elite school for the rich by a scholarship (sounds familiar? this drama actually came out earlier than The Heirs). The school is ruled by F4, Domyoji Tsukasa (Jun), Hanazawa Rui (Shun), Nishikado Sojiro (Shota), and Mimasaka Akira (Tsuyoshi). They are the richest students at school. They bully everyone who stands in their way. Everyone at school is afraid of them for they're the sons of the most powerful people in Japan. But one day, when Domyoji bullies Sanjo Sakurako, Makino stands up to defend her friend. From then on she receives a red tag (an order from F4 for other students to start bully her) and her days at school will never be peaceful anymore.

Hana Yori Dango, the drama where the original F4 boys come from. If you haven't heard of F4, you must've never seen Boys Before Flower (Korean remake) or Meteor Garden (Taiwan remake). Which I suggest, don't watch those remakes, the Korean one is a total failure in my opinion and the Taiwan is not that bad but not that good either. Hana Yori Dango is the best one compared to those remakes. The plot is good, the actors can bring out the characters really well, and there's no unnecessary side plots. And it doesn't drift away too far from the manga. The story didn't get draggy like the remakes, everything fits in perfectly.

One Who Wants to Wear The Crown, Bear The Crown is another title for this drama. As it says, it tells the story of the students in an elite high school for rich kids. The students in the school divided into four groups. First, the top group, the heirs of huge companies, they're born rich and don't even need to study hard as they will be bosses once they graduate. The second group, they don't have big companies, but they have lots of stocks which pretty much the same thing. The third, they are the children of high-rank state officials, lawyers, etc. And the last one, the students who get into the school by scholarship, in other words commoners. They are the group which often bullied by the first three groups.
Cha Eun Sang (Park Shin Hye) is a new student who happens to be in the fourth group. Having a feeling to her, Kim Tan (Lee Min Ho) tries to protect her by saying that she's a "new money" or someone who recently got rich. But Choi Young Do (Kim Woo Bin), Kim Tan's rival, suspects Cha Eun Sang's real identity and after some time falls in love with her as well. Problem arises with Rachel Yoo (Kim Ji Won), Kim Tan's fiancee, who bullies Cha Eun Sang.

At first, I watch this drama because of the casts (I'm a fan of Kim Woo Bin and Park Shin Hye), very popular actors and actresses and famous kpop idols, wow. And that's the only thing that kept me watching it till the end. Who doesn't know the old Cinderella story? A poor girl meets a rich boy and bullied by evil girl, the main plot is so overused. I love Park Shin Hye, but I really hate her character in this drama. She cries every single time! It's rare to see her smiling in this drama. And, come on, it's not even that sad. Everything is just so cheesy and predictable. And somehow it seems like they only used one song for the soundtrack, I cringe every time Love is the moment... comes on. The side stories and characters are much more interesting and lovable. If you want to watch a drama with a good plot, don't watch this. But if you want to see pretty faces and luxurious places, you're in the right place.

With everything that happened last year, their lifes once again, entangled.
Aside from the main characters from the first season, here are the new characters and some side characters in the first season that now becomes main characters.

  • Thee (Sedthawut), a homosexual boy who has a difficulty forgetting his ex, Phu (Chutavuth). And there's a first year boy called Non (Thiti), who might have feelings for him.

  • Pop (Napat), the school reporter whose sister joins in the school this year.

  • Koi (Kemisara), Dao (Sananthachat)'s bestfriend who falls in love with Dao after being teased by her friends that they would be cute if they were a couple.

  • Non (Thiti), Thee's new best friend who clings to him all the time.

  • Kanompang (Pearwah), a fan of See Scape band who later falls in love with Tar. She's bright and cheerful and she hasn't showed her bad side yet.

  • Oil (Narikunn), Kanompang's best friend, or so she thought. She seems quiet, but she wants attention more than anyone else.

  • Sun (Teeradon),  a new vocalist of See Scape and Kanompang's classmate.

  • Jane (Thanaerng), a girl who loves clubbing and happens to meet Win in U.S.

In my opinion, this series is not even close to the first season. The plot is far from good, there's no red line that connects all the characters and each story from each episode. There are too many unneccessary  side characters. And the new main characters are just so...plain. No strong backgrounds and some repeated plots. It got boring in the middle and the awaited main characters from the first season are rarely showed up. They got weaker stories and chaacteristics compared to the first season. I don't recommend you to watch this. Just stick to the first season only.

Hormones is a story about the life of nine teenagers with their problems. This series depict teenagers' issues from their points of view such as school violence, teenage sex, family matters, etc. Each episode tells the story of a character and his/her problems and how they deal with it. Here are the main characters :

This series is very engaging despite its common theme : teenagers and their problems. It's interesting to see how very clueless they are when faced with romance issues, parents, friends, teachers. Just like how we're as teenagers, troubled and doesn't want anyone's help. To see each character deals with their problems and grow up is weirdly entertaining in this drama. I can relate with some of the characters. We always have those kind of people at school, the popular boy, the tomboy girl who every other girl seems to hate, the smart girl, the boys in a school gang. For me, it depicts teenage life perfectly, even when some parts are exaggerated.

Realizing what she's trying to do, Hoon Dong  asks his best friend, Hong Gi Tae (Yeon Woo Jin), to ruin the party so that he doesn't have to marry her. The plan succeeds, but Jang Mi who's feeling upset releases her anger towards Gi Tae. Gi  Tae's mother accidentally saw the incident and thought that Jang Mi is Gi Tae's girlfriend.
Gi Tae's mother, thinking that Jang Mi's angry because Gi Tae refuses to marry Jang Mi, invites Jang Mi to her house and forces Gi Tae to marry Jang Mi because he has refused his mother's wish for him to get married quickly. His mother threatens him that if he doesn't want to get married, she will sell his apartment and force him to live in his parents' house again. Doesn't want to leave his apartment, Gi Tae makes a deal with Jang Mi to marry him in exchange of revenge for Hoon Dong. Trouble arises with Gi Tae ex, Kang Se Ah (Han Sun Hwa) who still has a thing for him and Han Yo Reum (Jinwoon), an employee in Hoon Dong's restaurant who seduces Jang Mi constantly.
This drama is not very popular, but it's surprisingly good. I doubted it at first because of the cast, they are not very popular in kdramas and I didn't expect much. But I was so wrong! After the first episode I can't stop watching. It's really really funny, I have to cover my mouth so I don't wake my sister up when watching it at midnight. It's really entertaining right from the start until the end, not boring at all for a 16-episodes-long-drama. I was blown away by this drama and I don't understand why is it only  a few people watched this. Popular actors and actress have nothing to do with the quality of a drama. It's the storyline and well, the act! You don't have to be popular to be able to act well. You guys really need to watch this drama.

10 Things I Hate About You

Rate 8.5/10
Cast
  • Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Cameron James
  • Julia Stiles as Katarina Stratford
  • Heath Ledger as Patrick Verona
  • Larisa Oleynik as Bianca Stratford
Based on William Shakespeare's play "The Taming of The Shrew", 10 Things I Hate About You is a story about Cameron James (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a new student in Padua High who falls in love with Bianca Stratford (Larisa Oleynik), a beautiful popular girl. The only problem is that Bianca is not allowed to date until her older sister, Katarina Stratford (Julia Stiles), does. Kat happens to be the kind of girl who doesn't even want to date and hates the idea of it.
Cameron has to find a way to get a boyfriend for Kat. And his choice falls on Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger), a bad boy with mysterious rumors circling around him. Will Kat fall for Verona? Will Cameron ever date Bianca? You have to watch this movie to find out!
Although this movie came out in 1999, I just watched it recently. And the first thing I noticed is teenage Joseph Gordon-Levitt, he's soo handsome and cute at the same time. And then of course Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles, they really did good in this movie. It's not the kind of teenage movie that's exciting in the beginning and getting boring in the middle to the end. It's really entertaining and you can't help but want more of it. The dialogues really fits in and they even put some original dialogues from the play. I can't say more about it, you have to watch it to taste the awesomeness.

Hello Stranger

Rate 8/10
Cast
  • Chantavit Dhanasevi as young man with the alias Dang
  • Nuengthida Sophon  as young woman with the alias May
Hello Stranger tells the story of a boy and a girl who coincidentally meet on their vacation in South Korea. Without telling their names to each other, they decided to travel around together. Their vacation turns out to be hilarious while visiting famous tourism spots in Korea. But, just like every other stories, their time together was coming to an end. Would they ever tell their names to each other?

Hello Stranger is one of the very first Thai movies that I've watched. And I must say it was AWESOME! The story was very simple but it was truly entertaining. Lots and lots of hilarious events and the two main characters (Chantavit Dhanasevi and Nuengthida Sophon)have their own charms which is the reason why this movie is great. I love this movie a lot and if you're looking for a good romantic comedy without being too cheesy, then Hello Stranger is the answer.
